visions", relating to the publication of abstracts of annual
statements.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 31 of Article 48A of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Insurance", sub-title "Gen-
eral Provisions", be and the same is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to- read as follows:
31. (Publication of Abstracts of Annual Statements.)
The Insurance Commissioner shall annually publish once in a
daily newspaper published in the City of Baltimore, an ab-
stract of the annual statement of each insurance company,
mutual or stock, doing business in this State, except domestic
companies having their principal office in one of the counties
of this S'tate, in which case said publication shall be in the
county where the principal office of any such company is
located. The actual cost of such publication by the Commis-
sioner shall be taxed against and collected from the companies
whose statements are so published by him. Each of said
companies except such mutual companies as are excepted
under the provisions of Section 159 shall, in addition to said
publication by the Commissioner, publish said abstract of its
annual statement once in another paper in Baltimore City.
The Commissioner and the company shall each publish the
abstract of each said company prior to the first day of
May. The Commissioner shall, upon payment of a fee of
One Dollar ($1.00), furnish a certified copy of such abstract
so published, to any person applying therefor.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

(House Bill 89)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
9 of Article 30 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), title "Deaf, Dumb and Blind", sub-title "Work-
shop and School for Blind", clarifying the provision as to
the payment for blind minors and colored deaf minors sent
to the Maryland School for the Blind.
