four years, beginning on the first day of the year following his
election, and until his successor duly qualities; and be subject
at all times to removal by the Governor for wilful neglect of
duty or misdemeanor in office, upon conviction in a court of
law; and the said Treasurer so elected shall in all respects be
clothed with the powers herein given, and be governed by all
the provisions of law; provided, however, that the Treasurer
elected by the legally qualified voters of said County in the
General Election in the year 1950 shall hold office from June
1, 1951 until December 31, 1954 or until his successor duly
qualifies.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

AN ACT to add eight new sections to Article 14 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Howard County", to be under a new sub-title "Taxicabs",
said new sections to be known as Sections 352, 353, 354,
355, 356, 357, 358 and 359, and to follow immediately after
Section 351 of said Article, providing generally for the
regulation in Howard County of taxicabs and their owners
and operators, by the County Commissioners of Howard
County and providing for the regulation and fixing of rates
in Howard County to be charged for the transportation of
passengers by said taxicabs and their owners and operators
by the County Commissioners of Howard County and pro-
viding penalties for violation of such regulations.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That eight new sections be, and they are hereby added
to Article 14 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Howard County", to be under a new
sub-title, "Taxicabs", said new sections to be known as Sec-
tions 352, 353, 354, 355, 356, 357, 358 and 359, to follow
immediately after Section 351 of said Article and to read as
follows:
352. The term "Taxicab" as used in this sub-title shall
embrace any motor vehicle for hire, designed to carry seven
