SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 103 of Article 14 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Howard
County", sub-title "County Treasurer", as said section was
amended by Chapter 17 of the Acts of 1939, and Chapter 644
of the Acts of 1945, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
103. There is hereby created in the office of the Treasurer of
Howard County the position of Clerk to the Treasurer of said
county, to be appointed by the Treasurer at a salary not ex-
ceeding Two Thousand Dollars (|2,000.00) per annum, pay-
able monthly, which salary shall be annually levied for by the
County Commissioners of Howard County. The Clerk so
appointed shall hold the position at the pleasure of the Trea-
surer, and shall perform such duties as shall be designated
from time to time by the Treasurer.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
73A of Article 14 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land (1930 Edition), title "Howard County", sub-title
"County Commissioners and County Collectors", as said
section was enacted by Chapter 270 of the Acts of 1939, pro-
viding for the payment of a fee for the acquisition of a
building permit and providing for an increase in the penalty
for failure to acquire said permit before erecting, construct-
ing or adding to any building in Howard County, exceeding
in value the sum of f 100.00 and generally amending said law.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Howard
County", sub-title "County Commissioners and County Col-
lectors", as said section was enacted by Chapter 270 of the
Acts of 1939, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
