SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

(House Bill 285)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
1099 of the Montgomery County Code (1939 Edition), being
Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
being Section 1292 of the Prince George's County Code
(1943 Edition), being Article 17 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title ''Montgomery County", sub-
title "Takoma Park", to change the corporate name of the
Town of Takoma Park.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 1099 of the Montgomery County Code
(1939 Edition), being Article 16 of the Code "of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, being Section 1292 of the Prince George's
County Code (1943 Edition), being Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Montgomery Coun-
ty", sub-title "Takoma Park", be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

1099. (1292). The inhabitants of that district of country
situated partly in Montgomery County and partly in Prince
George's County, in the State of Maryland, embraced within
the limits prescribed in Sections 1100 and 1101, shall be and
continue to be, a body politic and corporate by the name and
style of the "City of Takoma Park", and by that name shall
have perpetual succession, sue and be sued, and have and use
a common seal.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the "City of
Takoma Park" is hereby declared to be the legal successor
of "Town of Takoma Park" and "Mayor and Council of Ta-
koma Park" and shall be entitled to, and hereby is vested
with, all the property and rights of every nature whatsoever
belonging to the "Town of Takoma Park" and "Mayor and
Council of Takoma Park."

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That all laws, or parts
of laws, inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions of this
