proper discharge of his duties but in the exercise of said
duties he may delegate to appropriate officers, engineers
and employees such authority as he deems necessary to
carry out the duties of his office.
176-I. Temporary Absence from Duty: The duties of
the County Business Manager during his temporary ab-
sence or disability shall be performed by a qualified admin-
istrative officer of the County designated in writing by
the said Manager, or by the Board of County Commis-
sioners, by appropriate resolution, in the event the said
Manager fails to make such designation.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the office of
Budget Supervisor created by Section 174A of Chapter
185 of the Acts of 1939 be and it is hereby abolished, but
all other provisions of said Chapter 185 and amendments
thereto, shall continue in full force and effect.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the office of
County Road Engineer created by Chapter 249 of the Acts
of 1943, be and it is hereby abolished and the County Roads
Board as such is hereby abolished but the County Commis-
sioners shall continue to receive Twenty-five Dollars
($25.00) each per month for approving and supervising
the road work to be done by the County Business Manager.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That the salary of
the County Business Manager for the balance of the year
1947 shall be paid by the Board of County Commissioners
out of the unexpended balance previously levied for the
Budget Supervisor.
SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That all laws or
parts of laws inconsistent with the provisions of this Act
are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That nothing in this
Act shall apply to the City of Annapolis.
SEC. 7. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1947.
