465. (Fees.) All applicants for examination snail pay or cause
to be paid an examination fee for each examination taken,
in the amount of Five Dollars ($5.00), and no examination
fees shall be refunded. All applicants who have successfully
qualified are required to pay the sum of Twenty Dollars
($20.00), as a fee for license or certificate of registration.
There shall be charged a fee of $7.50 for the annual re-
newal 'of licenses or registration certificates. There shall
also be charged a fee of $10.00 for restoring a lapsed license
or certificate of registration, if lapse covers a period of one
year or more. If lapse is for less than a year a fee of $2.50
shall be charged for each quarter period of a year, the total
not to exceed the $10.00 fee aforementioned.
All non-resident applicants when registering to practice
architecture in the State of Maryland shall pay the same as
that prescribed for residents of Maryland. Fees for appli-
cants resident in States, territories or sub-divisions of the
United States, including the District of Columbia, where a
similar Registration Law is in force, shall pay the same as
the total fee or fees the Law of that State requires a resident
of Maryland to pay for registration in said state, provided,
however, that such fees are equal to or in excess of those re-
quired of a resident applicant in Maryland.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

(Senate Bill 55)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-sec-
tions (g), (h) and (i) of Section 347 of Article 23 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Cor-
porations," sub-title "Public Service Commission," as
amended by Chapter 992 of 1945, eliminating certain un-
necessary provisions in order to make said subsections
conform to the provisions of the Merit System and the
Standard Salary Laws.
WHEREAS, when Section 347 was amended by Chapter 992
of the Acts of 1945 certain provisions of said section which
had been superseded by the Merit System and Standard
