to be known as Section 34A and to follow immediately
after Section 34 of said Article, relating to the tax
rate in the Town of Berlin.

SECTION 1. Belt enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 24
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Worcester County," sub-title "Berlin," said
new section to be known as Section 34A, to follow immedi-
ately after Section 34 of said Article, and to read as
follows:

34A. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 34,
the Mayor and Council shall have authority in their dis-
cretion to make a general levy of taxes on the assessable
property of the town in an amount not exceeding seventy-
five cents on every one hundred dollars of assessed prop-
erty to meet the corporate expenses, requirements and
purposes of the town. Said tax shall be determined,
levied, and assessed, paid and collected in the manner
provided in said Section 34.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all laws or
parts of laws, whether public general or public local,
inconsistent with the provisions of Act, be and they are
hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1947.

(Senate Bill 405)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
41 of Article 7 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Carroll County", sub-
title "County Commissioners", as said section was
amended by Chapter 93 of the Acts of 1941, relating to
the amount which the County Commissioners of Carroll
County may borrow from time to time for extraordinary
and emergency expenditures.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by theGeneral Assembly of Maryland,
