CHAPTER 530.
(Senate Bill 279)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sec-
tion 167 of Article 7 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Carroll County," sub-
title "Manchester", enlarging the powers of the Mayor
and Common Council of Manchester to levy taxes upon
the assessable property within the corporate limits of
said town for general corporate purposes.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 167 of Article 7 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Carroll
County", sub-title "Manchester", be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enatced, with amendments, to read as fol-
lows:

167. All property within the corporate limits of said
town assessed for State and county taxation shall be sub-
ject to such taxes and charges as may be deemed necessary
to be levied by said Mayor and Common Council of Man-
chester to provide funds for the purpose of paying the
expenses and discharging the obligation which may be at
any time incurred in the improvement and management
of said town, and for other general corporate purposes.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1947.

CHAPTER 531.
(Senate Bill 280)

AN ACT to repeal Section 160 of Article 7 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Carroll County", sub-title "Manchester", and to enact
in lieu thereof a new section to be known as Section 160
of said Article, relocating and re-establishing the cor-
porate limits of the Town of Manchester.
