2 To Baltimore City : Thirty percent (30%) of the net

   

receipts of the Two Cent (2c) Gasoline Tax, exclu-

   

sive of the One and Four-tenths Mills ($.0014) of

   

the tax, together with thirty percent (30%) of the re-

   

mainder of the latter tax after the payment of Debt

   

Service on State Roads Commission of Maryland

   

Refunding and Improvement Bonds (if any part of

   

the One and Four-tenths Mills ($.0014) of the

   

Two Cent (2c) tax is required for debt service),

   

and twenty percent (20%) of the net receipts of

   

the One-half Cent (1/2c) tax, after deducting from

   

the Two Cent (2c) tax one-half (1/2) of the cost

   

of maintaining the Gasoline Tax Department in

   

the office of the State Comptroller, and after de-

   

ducting from the One-half Cent (1/2%) tax, one-

   

eighth (1/2) of the cost of maintaining the Gaso-

   

line Tax Department in the office of the State

   

Comptroller.

The aggregate share of Baltimore City in the

   

taxes shown immediately above, is appropriated

   

and dedicated to its use, and fifty percent (50%)

   

thereof shall be applied and used for maintaining

   

all streets, roads, and bridges within the cor-

   

porate limits of Baltimore City. The remaining

   

fifty percent (50%) is to be applied and expended

   

in the construction of new streets, highways and .

   

bridges on the street and highway system, and/or

   

to the reconstruction, betterments, surface re-

   

placement and repair of existing streets and high-

   

ways; provided, however, that Baltimore City

   

shall report to the State Roads Commission each

   

three months the manner in which, and the pro-

   

ject or location on which, funds from these ap-

   

propriations have been used or are being applied.

The amounts hereby shown are considered as

   

estimates only, it being the intention that these

   

appropriations shall be the whole of said taxes
