Council of Baltimore the right to exercise certain powers
and authority in connection with public and private streets,
lanes and alleys in Baltimore City.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new paragraph be and it is hereby added to Sec-
tion 6 of Article 4 of the Code of. Public Local Laws of Mary-
land and the Baltimore City Charter adopted by the voters of
Baltimore City at the election held on November 5, 1946, title
"Baltimore City", sub-title "General Powers", said new para-
graph to be known as paragraph (29A), to follow immediately
after paragraph (29) of said section, and to read as follows:

(29A) (Streets, Lanes and Alleys.) (a) To regulate the
construction and installation of public streets, lanes and
alleys, and private streets, lanes and alleys used or intended
to be used by the public;

(b) To ascertain, fix, establish and mark on the ground,
from time to time, the lines and grades of any or all such
public or private streets, lanes and alleys, or any part or parts
thereof, and to require conformity thereto;

(c) To regulate the construction and installation of utilities
and other facilities in, under or over any or all such public or
private streets, lanes and alleys;

(d) To prevent encroachment on, or obstruction of, any
of such public or private streets, lanes or alleys, or any public
places.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

CHAPTER 73.
(House Bill 174)

AN ACT to authorize and empower the Commissioners of
Cambridge, at one time or from time to time, to borrow
a sum or sums of money not exceeding One Hundred and
Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000.00) in the aggregate
and to evidence said borrowing by the issuance to the
lender or lenders of its general obligation, serial maturity
coupon bonds in like par amount, payable as to principal
and interest from the proceeds of ad valorem taxes, levied
without limitation as to rate or amount on all assessable
property in said municipality, and to use the money so
borrowed for the public purposes herein enumerated.
