The Senate advised and consented to the aforegoing ap-
pointment, agreeably to the nomination of the 23d inst.

STATE OF MARYLAND,
EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT,

Annapolis, Jan. 17, 1878.
Gentlemen of the Senate of Maryland:

I nominate Allen Nesbitt as Justice of the Peace for the
4th district of Worcester connty vice T, N. Halley, removed
from county.

JOHN LEE CARROLL.
On motion by Mr. Newcomer,

The Senate advised and consented to the aforegoing ap-
pointment, agreeably to the nomination of the 17th inst.

On motion by Mr. Lee,

The senate resumed the consideration of Legislative bus-
iness.

FRIDAY, January 25, 1878.

The following communication, which had been received
from His Excellency, Governor Carroll, by the hands of the
