Gentlemen of the Senate :

As the present Session of the General Assembly will ter-
minate, by Constitutional limitation, this Monday; April
1st, midnight, we propose that a Joint Committee, to be com-
posed of two members of the Senate and three of the House,
be appointed to wait upon his Excellency, the Governor, for
the purpose of communicating this fact, and ascertaining
whether he has any further communication to make.

We have appointed on the part of the House, Messrs.
Higgins, Hinks and Touchstone.

Mr. Lee presented the following message:

BY THE SENATE,

Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We have received your message proposing to appoint a
Joint Committee of two members of the Senate and three of the
House, to wait upon his Excellency, the Governor, for the
purpose of informing him that the two Houses of the General
Assembly will adjourn at midnight, this 1st of April, 1878,
and to ascertain whether he has any further communication
to make, and cocur therein.

We have appointed on the part of the Sf nate, Mess. Lee
and Lancaster.
