22nd and 23rd instants in consequence of important private
business, which, detained him at home.

On motion by Mr. Lancaster,

Leave was granted to Senators Lancaster, Combs, of St.
Mary's, and Hill to. introduce a bill to be entitled an Act in
relation to a road running to Brent's Landing, in Charles
County.

On motion by Mr. Peter,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to release cer-
tain claims of the State against Collectors, Sheriffs and oth-
ers, to discontinue the suits instituted for the recovery
thereof.

On motion by Mr. Peter,

Leave was granted to Senators Peter, Stump and Dennis
to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to create a new elec-
tion district in Montgomery County, to be known as Darnes-
town District, No. 6, or the Sixth Election District, of Mont-
gomery County.

On motion by Mr. Combs, of St. Mary's,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to regulate the
catching of oysters in the Potomac river.

On motion by Mr. Combs, of Allegany,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to repeal an Act entitled
an Act to authorize a reduction of the capital 8tock of the New
Central Coal Company, passed at January Session, 1874,
Chapter 287, and to re-enact the same with amendments.

On motion by Mr. Bannon,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to repeal and
re-enact Section 5. of Article 65, title "Mortgages, " of the
Code of Public General Laws, and to re-enact the same with
amendments.

On motion by Mr. Bannon,

Leave was granted to Senators Hepbron, Ford and Bannon
to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to authorize Robert
S. Emory to fill up a dock at Chestertown.

On motion by Mr. Stump,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to repeal Sec-
