At 11.12 P. M., Mr. Bannon moved a call of the Senate.

At 11.13 P. M., further proceedings under the call were
dispensed with.

Mr. Bannon moved to adjourn.

Mr. Steiner raised the point of order, that as no legislative
business had intervened between the motions to adjourn, that
the motion was not in order.

The Chair decided the point well taken.

Mr. Bannon appealed from the decision of the Chair,

The President having put the question,

"Shall the decision of the Chair stand, as the judgment of
the Senate?"

It was determined in the affirmative, by yeas and nays, as

follows:

Mr. Bannon asked for a division of the order.

The question being upon the first part of the order, as fol"
lows:

"That the consideration of the pending bill be postponed
until 11 o'clock, to-morrow."

It was adopted.

The question being taking upon the second part of the
