840 JOURNAL OF PEOCEEDINGS [Mar. 28,

16, of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Chancery,"
sub-title "Jurisdiction," and to re-enact the same with
amendments,

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

House Joint Eesolutions to memorialize Congress for as-
sistance to the Maryland and Delaware Ship Canal,

Were read the third time, and passed by yeas and nays, as
follows:

AFFIRMATIVE.

Messrs. President, Humphreys,

Bannon, Lee,

Combs, of Allegany, McLane,

Combs, of St. Mary's, Miller,

Ford, Newcomer,

Freeman, Steiner,

Gorman, Stump,

Hepbron, Welfley—16.

NEGATIVE—Mr. Cooper.

Said Resolutions were then returned to the House of Dele-
gates.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and deliv-
ered the following bills:

House bill entitled an Act for the protection of dairyman,
and to prevent deception in sale of butter and cheese.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Com-
mittee on Judicial Proceedings.

Also,

House Joint Resolution authorizing Judicial Proceedings-
to give effect to the electoral vote of Maryland.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Com-
mittee on Judicial Proceedings.

Also,

Senate Joint Resoluiion in relation to the Annapolis and
Elkridge Railroad Company.

Endorsed : "Passed by yeas and nays."
Also,

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,
6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 13, 19, 20, 21, 22,
