Said bill was then sent to the House of Delegates.

Senate bill entitled an Act for the relief of John Henry
Noble, Collector of State and County Taxes in Election Dis-
tricts Nos. 2 and 12, of Dorchester County, for the years
1874 and 1875, and his sureties,

Being upon its third reading,

Mr. bulivane submitted the following amendments :
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Strike out in Section 1, from the word "upon," in line 4,

to the word "loss," in line 6, inclusive ; also, strike out from
the word !'if," in line 8, to the word "it," in line 9, inclu-
sive ; and insert after the word "same," in line 8, the follow-
ing

"If, and when upon investigation by the County Commis-
sioners of Dorchester County, as provided in the following

section, they shall find that equity demands the release of
the said Collector from the responsibilities for said loss."

In line 4, of Section 2, after the word "dollars," insert as
follows : upon such proof of said loss, and upon such equita-
ble basis as to them shall seem proper and right after inves-
tigation into the circumstances attending the loss."

Strike out from the word "after," in line 4, to "deduct-
ed," in line 5, inclusive.
Which were adopted.

The bill, as amended, was then read the second time, and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

House bill entitled an Act to incorporate Gaithersburg, in
Montgomery County.

Was read the third time, and passed by yeas and nays, as
follows :
