Senate bill entitled an Act to amend Article 44, of the Code
of Public General Laws, title "Maryland Hospital," by re-
pealing Sections 1. 4, 8 and 11, of said Article,
With the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Strike out all after "A bill entitled,", and insert the fol-
lowing:
"An Act to amend Article 44, of the Code of Public General
Laws, title "Hospital, Maryland," as the same was amended
by the Act of 1876, Chapter 351, entitled an Act to repeal
Sections 1 to 13, both inclusive of Article 44, of the Code of
Public General Laws, title "Maryland Hospital," and to
enact in lieu thereof the following, to be arranged as sections
of said Article of the Code, by amending Section 4, of said
Article, and by re-enacting said Section 4, as amended, and
by adding an additional section to said Article 44, as so
amended by the Act of 1876, Chapter 351.
"Section I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 4, of Article 44, of the Code of Public
General Laws, title "Hospital, Maryland," as the same was
amended by the Act of 1876, Chapter 351, entitled an Act to
repeal Sections 1 to 13, both inclusive of Article 44, of the
Code of Public General Laws, title "Maryland Hospital,"
and to enact in lieu thereof the following, as sections of said
Article of the Code, be, and the same is hereby, amended and
re-enacted, se that the same shall read as follows :
"4. The Board of Managers shall appoint one of its number
who shall act as Treasurer, who shall give bond for the
faithful performance of his trust in such sum and in such
sureties as the Comptroller of the State shall approve. They
shall also appoint a Superintendent, who shall be a well-edu-
