66 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 18,

Act passed at the January Session, 1874, Chapter 483, entitled
an Act to repeal Article 81, of the Code of Public General
Laws of the State of Maryland, entitled "Revenue and
Taxes, " and to amend and re enact the said 138th Section.

On motion by Mr. Lee,

Leave was granted to Senators Lee, Combs, of St. Mary's,
and Hepbron, to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to repeal
Section 2, of Article 7, of the Code of Public Local Laws,
entitled "Carroll County, " sub-title "Almshouse, " and to
amend and re-enact the same.

Mr. Lee, from a Select Committee, reported favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to repeal Section fi, of Chapter
341, of the Acts of 1872, relating to Hawks and Owls, in
Carroll County.

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Cooper, from a Select Committee, reported favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to declare the sanction of the
General Assembly of Maryland to the bequest of David
Johnson, late of the City of Baltimore, deceased, to the
Second Universalist Society of the City of Baltimore.

Which was read the second time.

Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the further ex-
tension of the charter of the Frederick Town Savings Insti -
tution, supplementary to an Act passed at January Session,
1858, Chapter 162, entitled a further supplement to an Act
to incorporate the Frederick Town Savings Institution,
passed at December Session, 1826, March 9th, 1827, Chapter
189, repealing 1st Section thereof, and re-enacting the same
with amendments,

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Mr. McLane, from the Committee on Finance, reported
favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the payment of
the salary due the Secretary of the State Board of Health, for
the year ending December 31st, 1877.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. McLane, from the Committee on Finance, reported
favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Sections 107, 108, 109,
. 110, 111 and 112 of Article 81, of the Code of Public General
