of the Acts of 1874, entitled an Act to establish the Mary-
land House of Correction,

With the following amendments:

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

In Section 2, line 2, after the word "persons," insert the

words "The Board of Public Works, the Attorney General
add."

In Section 2, line 4, strike out the name of "De Wilton

Snowden," and insert in lieu thereof the name of "Herman
Stump, Jr."

In Section 2, line 5, strike out the name of "Asa Wilson"

and insert in lieu thereof the name of "De Wilton Snowden.;"
Which was adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was then read the second time and

ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. Lee, from a Select Committee, reported favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to repeal Sections 38 and 39, of
Article 7, of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title "Carroll County," sub-title "Orphans' Court," and to
re-enact the same with amendments.

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Peter, from a Select Committee, reported favorably,

House bill entitled an Act authorizing and directing the
County Commissioners of Montgomery County, to levy a sum
of money for Sarah B. Farquhar, for taxes erroneously paid

by her to said county.

Which was read the second time.

Mr, McLane submitted the following message:

BY THS SENATE,

March 19th, 1878.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We respectfully ask your Honorable Body to return to the

Senate, for further consideration, the House bill entitled an
Act to authorize the County Commissioners of Garrett Comity
to correct the assessmetit made under Chapter 260, of the
Laws of Maryland of 1876, on the shares of stock of Lochiel
Lumber, Mining, Manufacturing and Improvement Company

of Allegany County
