Which was read the first time, and referred to Senators
Combs, of St. Mary's, Hill and Gorman.

Also, delivered

House bill entitled an Act to protect fish in the waters of
Somerset County.

Which was read the first time, and referred to Senators

Dennis, Humphreys and Steiner.

On motion by Mr. Bannon,
At 10.30, P.'M., the Senate adjourned.

TUESDAY, March 19th, 1878

Senate met pursuant to adjournment.

Prayer by the Rev. B. S. Highley.
Present at roll call the following Senators.

Messrs. President, Bannon, Combs, of Allegany, Cooper,
'Dennis, Franklin, Freeman, Garey, Gorman, Hepbron, Hill,
Humphreys, Joyce, Lancaster, Lee, McLane, Miller, Peter,
Steiner, Stump, Sulivane, Welfley, Wilson—23.

The proceedings of yesterday were read and approved.

The President presented to the Senate the memorial of the
Baltimore Annual Conference of the Methodist Episcopal
Church, sitting at Cumberland, March 8th, 1878, respecting
the St. Mary's Industrial School for Boys.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Fi-
nance.

On motion by Mr. Wilson,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to amend the charter of
the Southern Maryland Railroad Company.

On motion by Mr. Sulivane,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to intro-
duce a bill to be entitled an Act for the relief of John H.
Noble, of Dorchester County, and his sureties.
