the southern end of South Street, in the City of Baltimore,
and to make valid to them the title conveyed to them by the
Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, by a deed dated on or
about the twenty-fourth day of January, in the year 1854,
With the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Strike out all after the words "a bill entitled," and insert
the following:
"An Act to enable the Mayor and City Council of Balti-
more to convey a good title in fee to the wharf at the south-
ern end of South Street, being the same property that by a
deed dated on or about the 24th day of January, in the year
1854, the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore conveyed in
fee to Samuel McDonald.
"WHEREAS, The Mayor and City Council of Baltimore here-
tofore sold to Samuel McDonald, in feej certain wharf prop-
erties at the southern end of South street, in the City of
Baltimore, and he has fully paid the whole purchase money
therefor, and said Mayor and City Council executed a deed,
conveying all their right, title and estate therein to him, and
"Whereas, Doubts have arisen as to the power of said Mayor
and City Council to execute said dead, and convey said prop-
erties, and
Whereas, Said McDonald has departed this life, therefore;
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore City,
be and they are hereby authorized and empowered to convey
by a good and sufficient deed, in fee, to the heirs-at-law or
assigns of the late Samuel McDonald, all the properties sold
him during his lifetime in fee, in as full and ample a man-
ner as the said Mayor and City Council were entitled to have,
hold and enjoy the same.
Sec. 2. And le it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
Which was adopted.
Said bill, as amended, was then read the second time.
Mr. Miller, from a Select Committee, (by unanimous con-
sent,) reported favorably, without amendment,
House bill entitled an Act to permit the shooting of wild;
fowl from sink boxes in the waters of the Elk and Bohemia
Rivers and their Tributaries, in Cecil County.
