On motion by Mr. Franklin, it was
Ordered, That ten copies of the Journal of both Houses be
furnished daily to the members of the Senate, and that the
Secretary of the Senate cause this order to be carried into
effect.
On motion by Mr. Bannon, it was
Ordered, That the Comptroller be, and he is hereby, re-
quested to inform the Senate what is the scope of the decision
recently made by the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County
in the cases of the County School Commissioners of Prince
George's County against the Comptroller of the Treasury;
what effect the said decision, if affirmed by the Court of
Appeals, will have upon the Treasury, and what legislation,
if any, will be necessary in order to enable the Treasurer to
carry such decision into effect, if so affirmed by the Court of
Appeals.
On motion by Mr. Hill,
Leave was granted to Senators Hill, Newcomer and Joyce
to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to regulate the com-
pensation of the Sheriff of Prince George's County for keep-
ing and boarding prisoners in jail.
On motion by Mr. Dennis,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to add a section
to Article 57, Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Limita-
tion of Actions, " and to give effect to the thirty-eighth Article
of the Bill of Rights, relating to the gift, sale or devise of
land to any minister, public teacher, &c.
On motion by Mr. Bannon,
Leave was granted to Senators Bannon, Hill and Hepbron
to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to remove all gates
from the public roads of Anne Arundel county.
Mr. Hill, from Select Committee, reported favorably,
Senate bill entitled an Act to regulate the compensation of
the Sheriff of Prince George's County, for keeping and
boarding prisoners in jail.
