1036 EXECUTIVE PROCEEDINGS

for Third District of Baltimore County to fill the number
the district is entitled to.

JOHN LEE CARROLL.
On motion by Mr. Freeman,

The aforegoing nominations were referred to the Commit-
tee on Executive Nominations.

Mr. Ford from the Committee on Executive Nominations
to which had been referred the nominations for State Board
of Education, reported that the Committee were of opinion
that said nominations ought to be confirmed.

Whereupon the Senate advised and consented to the said
nominations.

On motion by Mr; Ford,

The Senate resumed the consideration of Legislative bus-
iness.

SATURDAY, March 30th, 1878.

The following communications which had been received
from His Excellency, Governor Carroll, by the hands of Hon.
R. C. Hollyday, Secretary of State, were read.

STATE OF MARYLAND,

EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT,

Annapolis, March 30, 1878.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

I nominate Amos Gilbert as an additional Justice of the
Peace for the 3d district of Harford County, provided for by
Act of present session.

On motion by Mr. Stump,

The Senate advised and consented to the aforegoing ap-
pointment.
