On motion by Mr. Bannon,

The aforegoing appointments were referred to the Com-
mittee on Executive Nominations.

On motion by Mr. Lee,

The Senate resumed the consideration of Legislative busi-
ness.

TUESDAY, February 19th, 1878.

The following communications, which had been received
from His Excellency, Governor Carroll, by the hands of the
