REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES.

Mr. Goslin, from the Committee on Ways and Means
reported favorably,

House bill, File No. 158, entitled "An Act to auth-
orize the Board of County School Commissioners of
Dorchester county, to organize a high school to be
located in the town of Hurlock, in said county, and to
appropriate certain moneys in the maintenance
thereof."

Which was read the second time and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

REPORTS OF SELECT COMMITTEES.

Mr. Charles, from Select Committee, reported favor-
ably, with amendments,

House bill, File No. 379, entitled "An Act to auth-
orize and direct the School Commissioners of Wash-
ington county to appropriate a sum of money for the
purchase of a site and the erection of a school house
for the white children near Weverton, in said county."

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Amend bill by striking out all after section 2, add-
ing the following:

"Section 3. And be it further enacted, That if the
said School Commissioners of said Washington county
shall not have sufficient funds in their hands lo pay
the said nine hundred dollars ($900) for building said
school house, then and in that event the County Com-
missioners are duly authorized, required and directed
to pay out of the funds of said county, the said sum
of nine hundred dollars ($900) for building said school
house."

Which was adopted.

"Sec. 4. And be it further enacted that if the Coun-
ty Commissioners shall be required to pay the said
nine hundred dollars ($900) they are hereby directed
and authorized to include the said nine hundred dol-
lars ($900) in their next general levy made in the
county."

Which was adopted.
