Whereupon,

It appeared that no person had received a majority
of all the votes cast, the chairman declared that no
person had been elected by the joint assembly as
Senator from Maryland to the Congress of the United
States in succession to the Hon. Louis E. McComas, a
Senator in the Congress of the United States from this
State for the term ending March 4, 1911.

At the hour of 12:30,

On motion of Senator Beasman,

The Joint Assembly adjourned until 12 o'clock to-
morrow.

The House resumed business.
