A bill entitled "An Act to add an additional sec-
tion to Article 54 of the Code of Public General Laws
of Maryland, title 'Land Office,' sub-title 'Commis-
sioner of the Land Office, his Powers and Duties,' to
be designated as 'Section 2 A,' providing for the ap-
pointment of an index clerk of the Prerogative Court
and High Court of Chancery Records."

Which was read the first time, and referred to the
Committee on Ways and Means.

By Mr. Harrison,

A bill entitled "An Act to allow the legal and quali-
fied voters of Brunswick, in Frederick county, Mary-
land, to decide by ballot whether or not town coupon
bonds not exceeding the sum of ten thousand dollars,
shall be issued by the Mayor and Council of Bruns-
wick, in Frederick county, Maryland, for the purpose
of improving the streets and alleys of said town."

Which was read the first time and referred to the
Frederick delegation.

By Mr. Baker,

A bill entitled "An Act to repeal sections 182 D,
182 E, 182 F, 182 G and 182 H, of the Code of Public
Local Laws, title 'Washington County,' sub-title
'Hagerstown,' as enacted by chapter 171 of the Acts
of the General Assembly of Maryland, at the January
session of the year 1896, and to re-enact with amend-
ments, said section 182 D, so as to read, hereinafter
set forth, providing for the payment by the Mayor
and Council of Hagerstown of its portion of the cost
of the paving of any street, lane or alley, or part
thereof."

Which was read the first time, and referred to the
Washington delegation.
