AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Section 341, line 14, amend by striking out the
word "six" and insert the word "three."

Which was read the second time, and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. Walls, from Select Committee, reported favor-
ably,

Senate bill, File No. 144, entitled "An Act to au-
thorize the County Commissioners of Queen Anne's
county, to grant a pension to Abraham Smith, of said
county."

Which was read the second time, and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

Also favorably,

Senate bill, File No. 129, entitled "An Act to pro-
hibit the County Commissioners of Queen Anne's
county from hereafter paying any pension, and from
hereafter levying any sum of money upon the taxable
property of Queen Anne's county for the purpose of
paying any pension to any person who is now, or who
shall hereafter become, a non-resident of Queen Anne's
county, aforesaid, and to repeal all Acts inconsistent
with this Act."

Mr. Charles, from Select Committee, reported favor-
ably,

House bill, File No. 354, entitled "An Act to auth-
orize and empower the Mayor and Council of Hagers-
town, Maryland, to borrow the sum of seven thousand
dollars by the issue and sale of bonds, the proceeds
therefrom to be used in the construction, improve-
ment and repairs of drains, and providing for the
payment of the interest on such bonds and the prin-
cipal thereof."
