NEGATIVE—None.

REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES.
Mr. Johnston, from Judiciary Committee, reported
favorably, with proposed amendments,

House bill, File No. 169, entitled "An Act requir-
ing roving bands of nomads, commonly called gypsies,
and the persons composing such bands, who have no
permanent place of abode in the State of Maryland, to
take out a license to pitch or settle its or their en-
campment or carry on its or their transactions or
practice their craft within the limits of Caroline
county, and prescribe the penalty for a violation of
the same."

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
By the Judiciary Committee:

1. In line 6 of the title, strike out the words "Caro-
line County," and insert in lieu thereof the words
"any county of this State."

Which was. adopted.

2. In line 6, section 1, strike out the words 'Caroline
county," and insert in hen thereof the words "any
county of this State."

Which was adopted.

3. In line 8, section 1, strike out the words "Caro-
line County," and insert in lieu thereof the words "the
said county."

Which was adopted.

4. In line 2, section 3, strike out the words "of Caro-
line County."

Which was adopted.

5. In line 15 of section 3, strike out the words,
"Caroline County," and insert in lieu thereof, the
words, "the said county where the offense is com-
mitted."

Which was adopted.
