I sincerely hope the bill now on its third reading and
final passage may receive the practically unanimous
endorsement of my honored associates of the General
Assembly.

Mr. Speaker, I desire at this time and in this public
way to avail myself of the happy privilege of convey-
ing my cordial acknowledgments to that talented his-
torian of this ancient capitol. Hon. Elihu S. Riley, to
Mr. Hopkins, in the Comptroller's office; to Mr. Diehl-
man of the Librarian's office and to others, for valu-
able assistance in enabling me to present this subject
for your consideration.

BILLS—THIRD READING.

House bill, File No. 97, entitled "An Act to appro-
priate a sum of money to erect in St. Anne's cemetery
in the city of Annapolis, a monument to the memory
of Thomas G. Pratt, late Governor of Maryland, and
also to place in the Executive chamber in said city, a
portrait of the said Governor."
