spirituous and fermented liquors, or lager beer with-
in a certain area of territory in Baltimore county."
Which was read a first time, and referred to the
Committee on Temperance.
By Mr. Harry,
A bill entitled "An Act to better regulate and re-
strain the sale of intoxicating, spirituous, vinous and
malt liquors, providing penalties for the violations
of the same, providing for the enforcement thereof,
providing for remonstrances against the granting of
licenses for the sale of such liquors and prohibiting
the granting of licenses for the sale of such liquors in
any room whose front entrance is within 300 feet of
any churches or school buildings in the State of
Maryland, being 'An Act to add seven new sections to
Articles 56 of the Public General Laws of Maryland,
title 'licenses' to follow after section 81 B. of said
Article and to be designated as 'sections 81 C, 81 D,
81 F, 81 G, 81 H and 81 I.' "

REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES.
Mr. Linthicum, from Committee on Elections, re-
ported favorably, the
Joint resolution requesting the Governor to issue
a commission to the Hon. Isidor Rayner, Senator-elect
in the Congrees of the United States from this State,
for the term of six years from the 4th day of March,
1905.
Be it resolved by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That his Excellency, the Governor, be and is
hereby requested to issue his commission in the usual
form to the Hon. Isidor Rayner, as Senator-elect, to
represent this State in the Congress of the United
States, for the term of six years from the 4th day of
March, in the year 1905.
Which was read a second time, and passed by yeas
