Senate bill, File No. 7, entitled "An A?,t to establish
a sewerage system for the city of Baltimore; to em-
power the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore to
issue stock to an amount not exceeding ten million
($10,000,000) dollars for the purpose of defraying the
cost of said sewerage system; to authorize the submis-
sion of an ordinance to that end to the legal voters of
the city of Baltimore; to empower the Commissioners
of Finance of said city in their discretion, to use parts
of the Western Maryland purchase money for the re-
demption and purchase of such stock, and to auth-
orize the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore to
establish a system of sewer rates,"
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Strike out "Section 4" in engrossed bill, and insert
the following:
"Sec. 4. And be it further enacted, That all indi-
viduals and corporations lawfully having buildings,
structures, works, conduits, mains, pipes, tracks or
other physical obstructions in, over or under the pub-
lic lanes, avenues, streets, alleys or highways of the
city of Baltimore, which shall block or impede the
progress of said sewerage system, when in process of
construction and establishment, shall, upon reasonable
notice from said commission promptly so shift, adjust,
accommodate or remove the same, at their own cost,
