Whereupon,

It appearing by a viva voce vote of each Senator and
Member of the House present, (a majority of all Mem-
bers-elect of both Houses being present and voting),
that no person had received a majority of all the votes
cast, the Chairman declared that no person had been
elected by the Joint Assembly as Senator from Mary-
land, to the Congress of the United States in succes-
sion to the Hon. Louis E. McComas, a Senator in the
Congress of the United States from this State, for the
term ending March 4, 1911.

On motion of Senator Robinson,

The Joint Convention adjourned until 12 o'clock, m.,
to-morrow, February 3rd, 1904.

On motion of Mr. Milbourne,

The House adjourned until 11 a. m., February 3rd,
1904.

WEDNESDAY, February 3, 1904.
The House met at 11 a. m., and was opened with

prayer by the Rev. James Earle Maloy.

Present at the call of the roll the following members:
Messrs. Speaker, Buckler, Wilkinson, Atkinson,
