beer at any place in Garrett county, within three and
one-half miles of Fairview Church, in Election District
No. 8."

In section 1. on parts of lines 6 and 7, strike out
the words "three and one-half miles," and insert the
words "three miles."

INTRODUCTION OF RESOLUTIONS.
Mr. Cockey offered the following Joint Resolution:
Requesting the Senators and Representatives of
Maryland in the Congress of the United States to use
their utmost endeavors to secure the passage at the
present session of Congress of the House of Represen-
tatives, bill No. 4508, known as the Brownlow bill,
entitled "An Act to create in the Department of Agri-
culture a bureau to be known as the Bureau of Public
Roads," and to provide for a system of National,
State and local co-operation in the permanent im-
provement of the public highways.
