States, and the people thereof; and upon these con-
siderations the General Assembly at the session afore-
said, did appoint a committee of members of the
Senate and House with authority to confer with alike
committee on the part of the State of Virginia ; to sit
during the session of Assembly, or after its adjourn-
ment; to employ counsel, if necessary ; to send for
persons and papers, and to investigate such subjects
fully and upon completion of its investigation or dur-
ing the progress thereof, to report to the General As-
sembly their conclusion thereon ; and
Whereas, A committee on the part of the State of
Virginia has been appointed and is now in Maryland,
for the purposes above set forth; be it
Resolved, That a committee of seven persons, con-
sisting of three members of the Senate and four mem-
bers of the House, be appointed by the President of
the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Delegates
respectively, to confer with the committee of the Gen-
eral Assembly of Virginia, aforementioned, upon the
subjects above set forth; and that this committee be
given like powers and charged with duties like unto
the committee so appointed by the General Assembly
in 1902, as before recited.
Which was read the first time and referred to the
Committee on Chesapeake Bay and Tributaries.
