SECOND ORDER OF THE DAY.
The Chair laid before the House the second special
Order of the Day, being
Senate bill, File No. 70, entitled "An Act to repeal
sections 146 A. 146 B, 146 C, 146 D, 146 E, 146 E 1, and
146 F, of Article 81, of the Code of Public General
Laws, entitled 'Revenue and Taxes,' as amended by
chapter 120, of the Acts of 1896, and by chapter 313
of the Acts of 1898, and by chapter 26 of the Acts of
1902."
AMENDMENTS PROPOSKD.
Strike out all after the words 'A Bill,' and insert in
lieu thereof the following : "Entitled An Act to repeal
sections 146 A, 146 B, 146 C, 146 D, 146 E and 146 F,
of Article 81 of the Code of Public General Laws, title
'Revenue and Taxes,' sub-tille 'Tax on Mortgages,' so
far as the same apply to Baltimore city, Anne Arundel,
Baltimore, Prince George's, Harford, Charles, Calvert,
Allegany counties, and to allow the several counties
to collect said mortgage tax and apply it to their own
resources from any claim of the State."
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That sections 146 A, 146 B, 146 C, 146 D,
146 E and 146 F, of the Code of Public General Laws.
Article 81, title 'Revenue and Taxes,' sub-title 'Tax
on Mortgages,' be and the same are hereby repealed
so far as said sections apply to Baltimore city, Anne
Arundel, Baltimore, Prince George's, Harford, Charles.
Calvert and Allegany counties; and that said sections
shall be, and remain in full force and virtue in law in
the several counties of the State of Maryland.
Provided however, That all such taxes collected in
the said counties of said State shall be applied ex-
clusively in the respective counties, in which the same
