and re-enact with amendments sections 179 and 179 A
of chapter 197 of the Acts of 1902, providing for the
appointment of justices of the peace in Allegany coun-
ty, and defining their duties and jurisdiction, and fix-
ing the salary for the justices of the peace of Election
Districts Numbers 4, 5, 6, 14, 22 and 23."

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Smith, from Select Committee, reported favora-
bly,

House bill, File No. 772, entitled "An Act to repeal
chapter 416 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland, passed at the January session, 1902, en-
titled 'An Act to empower and require the Board of
County Commissioners of Frederick county, Maryland,
to provide for free scholarschips to students of Fred-
erick county in the Buckeystown Normal School in
said county."

Which was read the second time and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. Wingate, from Select Committee, reported favor
ably, with amendments,

Senate bill, File No. 247 entitled "An Act to repeal
and re-enact with amendments sections 104, 105, 105 A
and 105 B of Article 10 of the Code of Public Local
Laws, title 'Dorchester County,' sub-title 'County
Commissioners,' and to add one additional section to
follow said section 105, to be numbered '105 C,' relat-
ing to the number, term, election and compensation of
the County Commissioners of said county, and increas-
ing the number of County Commissioners to five."

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Add the following, after the word "dollars," at the
end of section 104:

"And mileage at the rate of ten cents per mile, one
way for each day's session such members shall be
actually present."

Which was adopted.
