The following is the summary of the votes cast by
the Joint Assembly.

10 members named Hon. Bernard Carter.
32 " " John Walter Smith.
38 " " Isidor Rayner.

4 " " Joshua W. Miles.

5 " " Elihu E. Jackson.
37 " " Louis E. McComas.

126 Whole vote.
Necessary to choice, 64.
Whereupon,

It appeared that no person had received a majority
of all the votes cast, the chairman declared that no
person had been elected by the joint assembly as
Senator from Maryland to the Congress of the United
States in succession to the Hon. Louis E. McComas, a
Senator in the Congress of the United States from this
State for the term ending March 4, 1911.

At 11.30 p. m.

On motion of Senator Biddison.

The Joint Convention adjourned until 12 o'clock
to-morrow.

The House resumed business, and
The Speaker announced the following
COMMITTEES :

Committee on the Judiciary—Messrs. Johnston,
Chairman; Wells, Linthicum, Bennett, Murphy, of
Baltimore city, Dennis, Ray, Benson, Godwin.

Committee on Manufactures—Messrs. Simmons,
Chairman; Hearn, Fitzsimmons, Lipman, Orem,
Downs, Riggin Walls, Miller.

Committee on Education—Messrs. Morrison, Chair-
man, Messick, Lowman, Willey, Wilson, Pearre,
Amiss, Simmons, Pairo.
