House bill. File No. 504, entitled "An Act to repeal
section 1 of chapter 282 of the Acts of the General As-
sembly of Maryland, passed at the January Session of
1894, entitled 'An Act to provide for the examination
and auditing annually of the accounts of the Board of
County School Commissioners for Caroline county,
and the Trustees of the Poor of Caroline county and
the County Treasurer of Caroline county, and to re-
quire the appointment of an auditing committee with
power to summons and swear witnesses, and to re-en-
act the same with amendments.' "
Endorsed: "Read the third time and passed by yeas
and nays as amended."
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
After section 1, add new section 1 A, to read as fol-
lows :
"Section 1 A, And be it further enacted, That for
the purpose of showing the true and financial condi-
tion of the county at the time of making the audit as
provided in the preceding sections, the Clerk of the
County Commissioners of Caroline county shall en-
dorse on all claims or accounts against the county, the
date when the same are presented and also enter in a
well-bound book to be kept for that purpose, said
claims or accounts showing the name of the creditor,
the date when such claim is presented and the charac-
ter and the amount thereof; and also the date said
claim or account is passed by said commissioners and
the amount allowed by them. It shall not be lawful
for the said clerk to allow or permit, any account or
claim presented against said county to be taken out of
his office until the same has been entered as herein-
before prescribed."
After the word "Maryland" inline 1, section 1, add
the following:
"That section 1 of chapter 282 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland, passed at the January
Session of 1894, be and the same is hereby repealed
and re-enacted with amendments so as to read as fol-
lows."
