By Mr. Linthicum,

A bill entitled "An Act to declare the sanction and
consent of the General Assembly of Maryland, to cer-
tain deeds made by various persons in the State of
Maryland, to the convention of the Protestant Episco-
pal Church of the Diocese of Maryland."

Which was read the first time and referred to the
Committee on the Judiciary.

Mr. Drumm presented the following

JOINT RESOLUTION.

Whereas, There is pending in the Senate of the
United States a bill of Senator McComas of Maryland,
to inaugurate the eight hour system of labor in all
work to be done directly or indirectly on public im-
provements for the United States or by contractors or

otherwise; and,

Whereas, There is pending also a bill introduced in
the House of Representatives by Mr. Grosvenor of
Ohio, to prevent the mis-use of the Writ of Injunction
in certain cases; and,

Whereas, Said measures are deemed to be wise and
just, and promotive of the welfare of the working
people of the State of Maryland; therefore be it,
Resolved by the Senate and House of Delegates of
Maryland, that the representatives of the State of
Maryland, in the House of Representatives and Senate

of the United States, are requested to employ such
efforts as they may deem just and proper to promote
the interest of such measures; and be it further

Resolved, that a copy of these resolutions be sent
to each member of Congress by the Governor of the
State immediately upon its passage.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Federal Relations.

Mr. Tennant submitted the following

JOINT RESOLUTION:

Whereas, It is represented that Fort Frederick,
