Said bill was then sent to the Senate.

Senate bill, File No. 85,'entitled "An Act to repeal
section 98 of Article 5, of the Code of Public Local
Laws, title 'Calvert County,' sub-title 'Liquor and In-
toxicating Drinks,' and re enact the same so as to read
as follows."

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Strike out all after the words "A Bill" and insert in
lieu thereof the following:

"Entitled an Act to repeal section 98 of Article o of
the Code of Public Local Laws, title 'Calvert County,'
sub-title 'Liquor and Intoxicating Drinks,' and to re-
enact the same with amendments.

"Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That section 98 of Article 5 of the Code
of Public; Local Laws of Maryland, title 'Calvert
County,' .sub-title 'Liquors and Intoxicating Drinks,'
be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with
amendments so as to read as follows:

"98. Any one violating the provisions of the pre-
ceding section shall, on conviction, be fined not less
than fifty dollars nor more than three hundred dollars
for each and every offense and be imprisoned in the
House of Correction for not less than three months
and not more than six months. And it, shall be suffi-
cient for the State in order to make out a prima facia
case against the party so prosecuted to prove the pro-
curing or the possession or the exposing to view, by
him or her, of a license for the sale of liquor from the
Government of the United States; provided, however,
that nothing in this Act shall be construed to repeal
any of the provisions granted to the town of Chesa-
peake Beach."
