On motion of Mr. Pairo, it was

Ordered, That the doorkeeper of the cloak room be
instructed by the Speaker to prevent from entering
the cloak room any person or persons not members of
the assembly, officers of either branch of the assembly
or representatives of the press.

LEAVES TO INTRODUCE BILLS.
On motion of Mr. Tennant,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Claims to
introduce a bill entitled "An Act to refund to Charles
G. Biggs, of Washington county, a sum of money
erroneously paid by him into the State Treasury."

On motion of Mr. Pairo,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judiciary to
introduce e bill entitled "An Act to add three new
sections to Article 27, Code of Public General Laws,
title 'Crimes and Punishments,' under the sub-title
'Assault.' to follow immediately after section 13, to
be known as section 13 A, 13 B, and 13 C."

REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES.

Mr. Collins, from the Committee on Claims, reported
favorably the following order:

Ordered, That the Speaker of the House of Dele-
gates be authorized to employ the services of four
stenographers and typewriters for the use of the
House, the persons so employed to provide their own
machines, and that a suitable place convenient be pro-
vided for them, with the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

"That the Speaker be authorized to employ the ser-
vices of two stenographers and typewriters, each to
be paid at the rate of five dollars ($5.00) per day,
without mileage, hours of service to be regulated by
the Speaker; said typewriters to furnish their own
machines."
