              Stephen: Page was this day fined by the Justices in Court Sitting according to Rules of Court for vain Swearing                


              

              Stephen Page the Second time fined for vaine Swearing in Court fined according to Rules of Court Ordered that the

                aforesd Stephen Page be taken into Sheriffe Custody till he give Security for his foresd fines & and behaviour

Whereupon Came the said Stephen: Page with his Security Miles Gray and the sd Page did pr Recogniance acknowledge &

Confess himself to be indebted to our Soveraign Lord the King & Queen Wm & Mary of England &ca the Sum of Tenne

pounds Sterling money of England and the said Gray the Sum of five pounds like money due to be leavied on their goods

and Chattels Lands and Tennements for their Maties uses &ca.

The Condicon of which recognizance is Such that if the above bound Stephen: Page do pay his two fines for Swearing vainly

when legally demanded & fees acrued, as also be of the good behaviour & abearance to all their Maties Liege people of this

Province dureing this Courts pleasure then this Recogniance to be void & of none effect, otherwayes to be & remaine in full

power force and vertue // 

 


                

                Wm: Layton this day was Sworn in Court on behalf of their Maties and Sent up to the Grand Jury.

The humble Petion of Thomas: Morris To yr Worpps in Court Sitting Sheweth mr Samuel: Hopkins and mr James Round did

agree With yr Petioner to take a diseased Boy into my house promiseing me on ye behalf of the Court, that I should be paid

after the rate of two thousand pounds of Tobacco pr year, as also for a New paire of Stockins which I provided with a paire of

New Shoes for the Said Boy according to Agreemt made with mr Hopkins & mr Round both which they promised should be reimbursed

againe, which I humbly Crave according to their promise and yr Petioner as bound Shall ever pray &ca. Thomas: Morris

The shoes Cost 60lb. The Stockins 60: The Boy Came to my house ye 21st. of September last & dyed ye Second day of Janry

following his name was Alexander: Humber

                The abovesd Petion being read the Court Orders that Thomas Morris be paid proportionably according to Agreemt

                out of next County Levy (viz) 787 pounds of tobacco as prayed &ca.


                

  Presentments. Given in by the Grand Jury as followeth. (viz)

              Wee present ffrances: Williams for Basterdy. &ca. George: Wilson. Informer. sd ffr: was tried this Court

              Wee present Jane: Carr. for Basterdy. Robert Poke, Informer

jury man.   Wee present John: Moore for Stealing two bottles of Wine ye 14th:day of 8ber. Tho: Oxford Informer

              Wee present John: Pope. for ye Breach of the Sabbath day. Mary Swain Informer

              Wee present Katherine: Rafferdy. for Basterdy. Nicholas: Cornewell Informer

              Wee present Thomas: Rolph. for buying of a Shoat of an Indian Wm: Layton Informer

                                                                                             Randall. Revell foreman.
