Whereupon Comand was this day given to the Sheriffe of this County to bring here twelve
good & lawfull men of his Balywick, that the matter in hand might be the better understood

heard the foresd Declaracon. precept & the Evidence upon Oath receives their charge

            And this day to witt the 17^th: day as aforesd Came the Jurors between the
aforesd Killoch & Keen bein all unamously agreed of their verdict the plt & deft
being likewise calld, the verdict is read in these expresse words following (viz)  Wee
of the Jury doe find the defend^t guilty according to the Evidence, that is to Say, for eleaven

Comes & Sayes that the deft in the year of our Lord 1690: then became indebted unto the sd
plt, Seaven good Slaughter hides, and three paire of good (large) Shoos as will appear
in Court by evidence, which Said hides & Shoos as (aforesaid) the defend^t did (pledge?) and
assume to pay to the plt when thereunto required but the(Defendant) minding his (promise)
& assumption but fraudulently intending y^e plt to deceive in the aforesd Seaven (hides) & 
in the aforesd. Shoes but hath denyed to pay & still doth deny though often thereunto required
whereupon y^e plt Saith he is damnified & hath losse to y^e value of  1600^lb of tob.& thereupon brings his Sute
