CHAPTER 432.
AN ACT to allow mileage to the County Commissioners
and judges of the Orphans' Court of Saint Mary's
county, and the County Commissioners of Prince
George's county.

SECTION 1. Be
it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the county commissioners and
judges of the orphans' court of Saint Mary' county,
hereafter to be elected, shall, in addition to the compensation
now allowed by law, be entitled to receive
mileage at the rate of five cents per mile on all distances
not exceeding twenty miles, from the residence of
such commissioners to the county town, said distance
to be computed by the shortest public road from their
respective places of residence, to the county town of
said county.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted,
That it shall be the duty
of the county commissioners of said county at their
first meeting after each election for county commissioners
and judges of the orphans' court, to determine the
amount of mileage each county commissioner and
judge of the orphans' court shall be entitled to receive,
and they are hereby authorised to levy on the assessable
property of the county, an amount of money sufficient
to pay the same.

SEC. 3. And
be it enacted, That the provisions of
this act, so far as relates to the mileage of county commissioners,
shall apply to Prince George's county.

CHAPTER 433.
AN ACT to amend the act incorporating the Franklin
Health Insurance Company of Baltimore.

WHEREAS, It has been represented
to this General
Assembly, that the Franklin Health Insurance company
of Baltimore has been established for the insurance of
the health of the power and laboring classes of the
community, who, on the payment of a sum varying
from three to twelve dollars per annum, may insure to
themselves support and medical attendance during
