AN ACT appropriating a sum of money to pay James
Higgins, State Agricultural Chemist, for twelve thousand
five hundred copies of his third report to the
Legislature.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Treasurer is hereby authorised
and directed to pay, upon the warrant of the Comptroller,
to James Higgins, State Agricultural Chemist,
the sum of twelve hundred and fifty dollars, for twelve
thousand five hundred copies of his third report to the
Legislature.

That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 348.
AN ACT to confirm and make valid the assessment of
the Capital Stock of incorporated Institutions and
Companies, in Allegany county, in this State, and to
enlarge the powers of the County Commissioners of
said county, in relation to the assessment of the same,
and to enforce the payment of the taxes which may be
imposed thereon.

the capital stock of all incorporated institutions and
companies in Allegany county, in this State, made by
the assessors in said county, appointed by the act of the
