company any banking privileges, or any rights to issue
notes payable to bearer for circulation, or to exempt the
lands or other property of the said company from taxation.
In force.








Reservation.
     SEC. 6.  And be it enacted, That this act shall be
in force from and after its passage; and the company
hereby incorporated shall be subject to all the restrictions
imposed by the act of December session, eighteen
hundred and thirty-eight, chapter two hundred and
sixty-seven, entitled, an act prescribing general regulations
for the incorporation of manufactories and mining
companies; and the Legislature hereby reserves the
right to alter or repeal this act at pleasure.

                           CHAPTER 338.

AN ACT to incorporate a Company to make a turnpike
     road from Fairview, a point on the road leading from
     Williamsport to Hagerstown, to Funkstown, in Washington
     county.
     Incorporated
to make a
turnpike  road.
     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That a company be and is hereby incorporated
to make a turnpike road from Fairview, a point
on the road leading from Williamsport to Hagerstown,
to Funkstown, in Washington county, beginning at
Fairview, and to be located on the most practicable
route, to be constructed of stone, gravel or plank, and to
be located, graded and constructed under the direction of
the president and board of managers, to be chosen
under the provisions of this act.
     Authority to
locate road.
     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That the said company
shall have the privilege, and are hereby authorised and
empowered to locate said road, over any bridge built
by said county, or over any road, part or parts of
road or roads laid off by said county as a public road, if
they deem it proper so to do, having first obtained the
assent of the county commissioners for Washington
county and in such terms as said county commissioners
may impose.
Incorporated.
     SEC. 3.  And be it enacted, That the stockholders in
said company shall be, and they are hereby incorporated
and constituted a body politic, by the name and
