levy an additional sum at their next annual levy to pay
the cost incurred in the valuation and condemnation of
said lot of land.

     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

                                   CHAPTER 51.

AN ACT to authorise Nicholas H. Green, clerk of the
     circuit court of Anne Arundel county, to complete the
     alphabetical index of land records in his office from
     the first day of February, eighteen hundred and forty-nine,
     to the third day of December, eighteen hundred
     and fifty-one, and of the personal records from the
     fifteenth day of February, eighteen hundred and forty-five,
     to the third day of December, eighteen hundred
     and fifty-one, which were left uncompleted by his predecessor,
     and to authorise each clerk to keep up and
     continue the record of the indexes in the manner and
     form as prescribed by law.

     Passed Feb.
23, 1853.

     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That the clerk of the circuit court for
Anne Arundel county, be and he is hereby directed to
complete the general alphabetical index of land records
in his office, from the first day of February, eighteen
hundred and forty-nine, to the third day of December,
eighteen hundred and fifty-one, and of the personal
records, from the fifteenth day of February, eighteen
hundred and forty-five, to the third of December
eighteen hundred and fifty-one, which were left uncompleted
by his predecessor.

     SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That the county commissioners
for Anne Arundel county, shall levy on the
assessable property of said county, for such sum of
money as in their direction will be sufficient to compensate
said clerk for the faithful performance of the
work herein directed to be done by him.

     SEC. 3.  And be it enacted, That after the completion
of the work as aforesaid, it shall be the duty of the
said clerk to keep up and continue the record of indexes
in the manner and form as prescribed by law.
