SEC. 2. And be it enacted,
That the sum of forty
dollars, being equal to the half pay of a private, is hereby
appropriated, and the Treasurer, upon the warrant of
the Comptroller, is hereby directed to pay the said sum
of money to Susan King, or her order, during her life.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted,
That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 317.
AN ACT to license certain Traders, known as Hucksters,
in Charles and Prince George's counties.
|
License to be
obtained.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted
by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That from and after the passage of this
act, it shall not be lawful for any person to purchase for
sale, hogs or poultry, of any description whatever,
within the limits of Charles and Prince George's counties,
without first obtaining a license from the clerk of
the circuit court of each county in which such person
or persons intend to pursue such business.

Sum to be
paid.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted,
That each person, for
each license referred to in the first section of this act,
shall pay the sum of fifty dollars to the clerk issuing
such license, and the said clerk shall account for and
pay over to the Treasurer of the State, the monies received
by him, under the provisions of this act, at the
time or times, and in the same manner as he is required
by law to pay over other monies received by him for
the use of the State.

Fine imposed.
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted,
That any person or
persons who shall violate the provisions of this act,
shall, upon conviction in the circuit court for the county
in which the offence be committed, be fined for every
offence the sum of one hundred dollars, one half for the
use of the State and the other half for the use of the
person or persons who shall prosecute the same with
effect.
