     SEC. 21.  And be it enacted, That the county commissioners
of Frederick county, be, and they are hereby
authorised and empowered to subscribe for as many
shares in the capital stock of said company, as in their
judgment they may deem advisable; said subscriptions
not to exceed fifty shares.
     County commissioners

     SEC. 22.  And be it enacted, That nothing in this
act shall be so construed, to allow said company to
issue any note, token, scrip, certificate, or other evidence
of debt, to be used as a currency.
     Banking forbid.
     SEC. 23.  And be it enacted, That this act of incorporation
shall continue in force forty years, and that
the General Assembly hereby reserves the right to
alter, amend, or repeal this act of pleasure.
Reservation.
     SEC. 24.  And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
In force.


                           CHAPTER 303.

AN ACT to cede to the United States jurisdiction over
     the site of a Light House, to be erected on the Seven
     Foot Knowl, in the Chesapeake Bay.



     Passed May
27, 1853.
     Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That jurisdiction be and is hereby ceded to the Government
of the United States, over the site of the Light
House to be erected on the Seven Foot Knowl, in the
Chesapeake Bay; reserving in the State of Maryland
concurrent jurisdiction over said site, so far that all
civil and criminal process issued under the authority of
the State may be executed thereon, as fully and amply
as if this act had not been passed.
     Jurisdiction
